Personal Awareness in Hostile Situations

Since the recent atrocities in Paris and other horrific worldwide events that have occurred, Orchid Risk Management Training Unit is providing a one-day course for multi national corporations to consider the duty of care of their personnel.

The aim of the training is to mitigate risks and better prepare personnel should they travel or reside in hazardous and remote areas and find themselves caught up in a hostile situation. Our training will enable delegates to foster the concept of situation awareness and acquire the skills to counter potential threats should they arise.

Close Protection

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the security industry must undertake a recognized accredited course. Orchid Training provides Candidates with the relevant SIA ‘Specifications for Learning and Qualifications for Close Protection Operatives.’ Courses are practical, intensive and conducted by qualified experienced instructors with vast industry knowledge.

Fast Track Close Protection

Orchid Training provides the opportunity for Candidates who have previously received formal close protection training and require a SIA Close Protection license.

This Fast Track Refresher course is suited to Candidates who have trained with the following organisations: Special Air service Regiment Body Guard Course, Royal Military Police Close Protection course, Metropolitan Police Royal Protection/Special Branch Close Protection Course and Police National Close Protection Courses including Northern Ireland

The Edexcel First Person on Scene (FPOS) is a Level 2 BTEC Award IHCD. The purpose of the First Person on Scene © (FPOS) qualifications is to provide immediate life support to the patient pending the arrival of definitive pre-hospital care. Our course delivery is a combination of classroom and appropriate practical scenario based content.

Hostile Environment Close Protection Operators (HECPO) Course

Orchid Training and Shooting Training Solutions provide the opportunity for Close Protection Operatives to enhance their continuous professional development with our Hostile Environment Close Protection Operators (HECPO) course. HECPO participants will be trained to undertake tasks in challenging situations that reflect on working in high risk and hostile environments. First Person on the Scene (FPoS) 

The First Person on Scene © (FPOS) qualifications is to provide immediate life support to the patient pending the arrival of definitive pre-hospital care. Originally designed by the Ambulance Service for Community First Responder, it is now being used by the Fire Service, Close Protection Officers, Police and many more.

Defensive & Evasive Driver Training

This course assures Close Protection Drivers, Chauffeur’s, Fleet drivers and Corporate members who recognise a duty of care to driving and understand that safety is paramount to their occupation receive structured and progressive driver training. The aim of the course is to increase a driver’s security and situation awareness to emergency situations. To achieve this the driver is empowered with skill sets for their own personal security to seek hazards whilst driving the system of vehicle control and anticipate the threat of other road users.

Maritime Security Awareness & PDSD Training

MCA Competence in Enhanced Security Awareness for Seafarers & Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD).

On completion of both the Seafarers Security Awareness & PDSD training, the students will have an understanding and satisfactory knowledge; to recognise key skills enabling them to:

Be aware of the importance of ship security and the roles of those involved in its provision.
Recognise and report a security threat.
Be aware of the requirements and measures to maintain ship security.
Maintain the measures in a ship security plan and related requirements for the effectiveness of security arrangements, procedures and equipment at the three security levels. (PDSD only)
